Overview
The Microsoft 365 (Single Tenant) integration connects Uniportal directly to one Microsoft 365 tenant. This is the right option when you want to manage a single environment, for example your own MSP tenant, an internal IT department, or a single customer where you do not have a GDAP/CSP relationship.
Once connected, you can manage users and groups, automate access changes, and run helpdesk actions like password resets, MFA changes, and license assignments from the Uniportal dashboard.
If you are an MSP managing multiple customer tenants through your Partner Center relationships, use the Microsoft 365 (CSP) integration instead. That option lets you onboard many customers through a single connection using GDAP.
Prerequisites
Before starting, make sure the following are in place:
- You have an Owner or Admin role in Uniportal to set up integrations.
- The account you use to consent to the Uniportal app must:
- Have Global Administrator rights in the tenant you are connecting.
- Have Microsoft MFA enabled. Third-party MFA solutions like Duo are not supported for the consent flow.
Step-by-step guide
1. Open the Integrations page
- Log in to your Uniportal dashboard.
- In the sidebar, click Integrations.
- Under Available, find Microsoft 365 (Single Tenant) and click Connect Now.
2. Authorize the integration
- Click Continue to start the consent flow.
- Sign in with a Global Administrator account from the tenant you want to connect.
- Review the requested permissions and click Accept to grant Uniportal access to Microsoft Graph for that tenant.
Once consent is granted, you will be returned to Uniportal and the integration will appear under Connected on the Integrations page with the tenant domain, enabled date, and connected account.
3. Initial sync
After authorization, Uniportal automatically begins importing data from the tenant.
The initial sync usually completes within a few minutes. You can monitor progress on the integration detail page, where you will see the Onboarding Status and Last Synced timestamp. You can trigger a manual sync any time using Sync Now.
4. Review imported data and set permissions
Once the sync completes, all users from the connected tenant are visible in the Uniportal dashboard. Before letting your team start running actions, set the right access controls:
- Go to Team in the sidebar.
- Assign technicians to the appropriate roles and groups.
- Use Companies to scope which technicians can access this tenant if you have multiple environments connected.
This makes sure technicians only see and act on the users they are responsible for.
Verifying the integration
To confirm everything is working:
- The Microsoft 365 (Single Tenant) card on the Integrations page shows a green Connected status with the tenant, enabled date, and connected account.
- The integration detail page shows Onboarded status with a recent Last Synced timestamp.
- End users from the tenant are visible in the End Users section of the dashboard.
Troubleshooting
The consent flow fails or returns an error. Confirm the account you are using has Global Administrator rights in the target tenant. Third-party MFA may also block the flow, switch to Microsoft MFA for setup.
Users or groups are missing after sync. Use Sync Now on the integration detail page to trigger a fresh pull. If data is still missing, check that the consenting account has the required Graph permissions and that the objects exist in Microsoft 365.
The integration is stuck in onboarding. Disconnect and reconnect the integration. If the issue continues, reach out to Uniportal support.
Technicians can see users they should not. Review the role and group assignments under Team and adjust scoping under Companies.
